Adapun ketika disebutkan secara bersamaan, maka amar ma'ruf adalah mengerjakan perkara yang diperintahkan, sedangkan nahi munkar adalah meninggalkan yang dilarang. Mengadakan perdamaian biasanya tidak dilakukan kecuali antara dua pihak yang bersengketa dan bermusuhan, di mana hal itu jika dibiarkan akan menimbulkan keburukan dan perpecahan yang besar. Oleh karena itu, syari' mendorong untuk mendamaikan antara manusia, baik dalam hal darah, harta maupun kehormatan, bahkan dalam menjalankan agama sebagaimana firman Allah Ta'ala Bukan karena kepentingan dunia atau lainnya.
